Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

Rare recently released a new trailer for Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, the newest installment in the Banjo Kazooie series. When I first heard about this game, I couldn’t contain my excitement. The dynamic duo’s games had always kept me occupied when I was younger, so I thought this game would help me to relive my much younger years. However, after watching this trailer, I’m not so excited.
The trailer shows that you’ll be able to customize your own vehicles. These vehicles will help you to collect Jiggies and complete the missions. From what I saw, it seems like you’re going to have to use vehicles a lot in the game. There are land, water, and air vehicles. It looked like the whole trailer was introducing the vehicle feature. Let’s not forget the one scene where Kazooie had a ray gun.
Now let’s get to the end of the trailer. It shows 8-bit Mario on a bridge. Suddenly, in come Banjo and Kazooie in an airplane and they blow off Mario’s head with a missile. Want to guess what this means?
So, from what I’ve seen, I’m not too impressed. What happened to the old magical feeling of the two first Banjo Kazooie games? What happened to solely running around with Kazooie (no vehicles involved) to complete your missions and collect Jiggies? I’m saddened that Rare added these features.
Let’s just hope future trailers reveal more classic aspects of the game.

As far as trailers go, this didn’t convince me to get interested in the game in the least, despite loving the old classics on N64. I agree with you completely on this one, ToAd.
